Synopsis
Jeehee, an aspiring painter living in a maid's room in Paris, finds her footing when she grows close to her neighbour Teresita, a domestic worker. But when she meets Luc, Teresita's employer and a prestigious gallery owner, the two women flee together, leaving the maid's room behind.
Director’s Note
This film explores migration, labour, and gender through women from South Korea and the Philippines. Different in cultural and economic background, they live within the architectural and social structure of the maid's room, a place that is home to neither. Films about Asian immigrants in Western societies are becoming more visible, but those about Asian migrants remain rare. By closely tracing the conflict and solidarity between its two protagonists, this film brings light to the story of women striving in a globalised world.
